Rob Selna enters his fifth season as the volunteer assistant coach for the Pacific Tigers. Amongst Selna's duties, he serves as the Tigers' third base coach during the season.

Selna has helped build winning programs throughout the Central Valley. He joined the Pacific Tigers' program in the fall of 2003.

A veteran of 14 years of coaching experience, Selna came to Pacific after spending three seasons (2001-03) as an assistant coach at Delta College in Stockton, Calif. Prior to coaching at Delta, Selna was the head coach for two seasons (1999-2000) at St. Mary's High School, also in Stockton. Selna's first coaching experience came as an assistant coach at Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif., where he spent six seasons (1993-98).

Selna earned his bachelor's degree in liberal studies, with a supplemental emphasis in English literature and composition, from Fresno State in 1993. He would go on to obtain his teaching certificate from National University in 1995. In August, Selna began his seventh year as an English literature and composition teacher at St. Mary's HS.

Selna and his wife of 11 years, Monica, have three children, Cal (7), Claire (5) and Brigit (3).
