2005 (Junior):
Hampered by an injury the entire season, Padilla's offensive production was slowed in 2005, forcing Pacific's offensive captain to find other ways to get involved on the field. Despite the injury, Carmen still played in and started all 20 games for the Tigers during her junior season. For the year, Carmen scored one goal, notching Pacific's game-winning goal in overtime as Pacific defeated San Francisco, 2-1, on August 28. With one goal, Padilla sits in seventh place on the all-time list with 16 goals in three seasons. Offensively, Padilla made her presence felt with her passing prowess, tallying four assists, tying for the team-high. Her finest showing came in the season opener when she posted three assists, including the game-winning assist, in Pacific's 5-0 win over Portland State on August 26. For her play, Carmen was recognized with a selection to the All-Big West Conference First Team for the second time in her career. Her 22 points ranked second in the Big West while her eight goals tied for fourth most in the conference. In addition to scoring, Padilla's six assists placed her into a tie for third most in the conference. Facing double teams for much of the season, Carmen went through scoring spurts including notching three goals and an assist during the Nike Invitational which earned her the tournament MVP award. Additionally, Carmen was named Big West Player of the Week for her play that weekend, a feat she would duplicate two weeks later as she garnered her second POW award after scoring twice and adding an assist against San Jose State on Sept. 19.
